| We Want You to Get to Know Us!
Julie Nation Academy is independently owned and operated by Santa Rosa resident, Julie Nation, who has resided in Sonoma County for over 45 years. Julie holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, is a past President of the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce and a recipient of a Commendation for her Outstanding Achievements from the Senate of the State of California. A former model and actor, she has been a keynote speaker for national conventions and industry events.
The primary emphasis at Julie Nation Academy is on educational quality and small classes of 8 - 12 students. The top priority at Julie Nation's is contemporary, up-to-date training that meets the needs of the modeling and acting industry. Our prestigious Advisory Board is a key liaison to creating an exciting and relevant curriculum.
The instructors at Julie Nation Academy maintain their focus of supporting students in their personal growth and achievement of their goals. Most instructors hold B.A. and/or M.A. degrees, or teaching credentials, and many are graduates of Julie Nation Academy. Some have been teaching at the Academy from 3 - 15 years.
Parents and students should compare hours of education and tuition value when researching schools. Course content is easily attainable at Julie Nation Academy and tuition prices are available on published forms, upon request, with the payment plans clearly listed. The purchase of this kind of service in education is much like deciding any private school for yourself or your child. It is essential that the student of any age be provided with an environment that is conducive to personal growth and solid educational values taught by caring and qualified professionals.
Although image is valued, Julie Nation Academy teaches that being real and authentic as individuals is not only personally healthy, but also what agents and employers are looking for. Parents! Be careful to not just buy image and fluff sold to you by a high-pressured salesperson in a facility designed to mainly create image!
The Julie Nation company has high standards of honesty and pride, and it is our highest priority to provide excellence in all our services.
While formal religion is not taught at Julie Nation's, we encourage students to seek a spiritual path of their own choice. Ethics and character development principles are taught, as ones personal and professional life is built on the quality of "Inner Personhood."
Even though Julie Nation's is associated (through job placement services) with national and international agents and casting directors, our training center is locally managed by owner Julie Nation.
The Julie Nation Model & Talent Management Division assists in placing students, graduates and other qualified applicants with local employers and West Coast agents, nationally and internationally. We are not a licensed agency, but refer models and performers to licensed agents, and our Personal Career Management Division offers job placement assistance services and web exposure to local and national employers, agents and casting directors through our web page titled "Career Express."
Once a year, Julie Nation hosts the International Model and Talent Showcase where students, graduates and the public-at-large are invited to "showcase" their talent for national and international agents, casting directors, and employers in the state-of-the-art Jackson Theatre, Santa Rosa.
The personal presence of these top agents, who travel to "scout" for new faces and talent, is an invaluable exposure for aspiring performers. Participants attend Showcase who live in Northern California as well as out-of-area and other states. Click onto "Showcase and Conventions" on our website for additional information and our registration form.
Julie Nation's is proud of our Better Business Bureau rating of 'Satisfactory.' We have '0' complaints. We aspire to treat each individual with the Golden Rule and desire to serve each student with personal attention and respect.
Wise Research For Students & Parents:
We recommend you contact the Better Business Bureau to check rating information on any school or company you may be interested in. Word-of-mouth is the best source of information. Talk to a school's graduate extensively regarding his or her opinion of value received in training and services.
Listen to agents on talk shows, or licensed agents when they provide seminars (these are rare; we do recommend the Julie Nation seminars provided year-round and at Showcase. Please see our Showcase Information and Audition Information re: public service seminars. Tickets for theater seating for Showcase Performances can be purchased separately by calling 707.575.8585 and is a great event to see and learn about Julie Nation trainings and agents' needs in hiring talent.)
