The Julie Nation Model and Talent Search has been developed into one of the Country’s most prestigious events of its kind.
The Search is one of the major events in the industry where agents and casting directors scout for talent and models of all kinds and all ages – from babies to senior citizens. Many participants of the Search get “call backs” because of the prestigious reputation the Julie Nation Search and Convention has with agents casting directors, and industry leaders, and the participant – you! – being well-prepared by Julie Nation Staff.
Highlights of Search

- Search rehearsals to help you feel and perform your best! TBA at a later date
- Agency Procedures Workshops are conducted free of charge. Learn

- “Callback” interview opportunities; where all agents interested in interviewing you, can do so the same day as Search.
- Agents will instruct you as to how to follow-up at callback time, if they are interested in potentially registering you.
- After the Search, you can review, with a Julie Nation staff member, a computer print-out of feedback from our panel of agents, casting directors, and industry leaders, and marketing comments for building your career! This meeting, in person or by phone, will guide you on how to follow up with agents.
- Traveling? Call and we can assist you with local Hotel Accomodations with special rates.
Application/Audition
The public is warmly invited to take advantage of the opportunity to be in the Search; you do not need to be a Julie Nation Academy graduate or student. Registration is conducted daily, in-person in our corporate offices in Santa Rosa, or by mail.
You may receive our free, honest, evaluation prior to registering for Search by calling and arranging a 1/2 hour evaluation interview with Julie Nation Staff.
Out-of-area interested candidates may send non-returnable snapshots or copies of photos, and your phone number, and we will call with this evaluation over-the-phone. These photos can also be e-mailed to julienation@julienation.com REMEMBER TO E-MAIL YOUR PHONE NUMBER.
Also, note: our advice does not represent the agents. It is simply our opinion.
Agents are looking for all kinds of people, a wide variety of "looks," talent, sizes, ages, etc... that only they know, as they meet the needs of their clients, who number in the thousands and include major retailers, magazines, newspapers, TV & commercials, movies, documentary films, brochures, billboards, fashion shows, conventions, and a host of "behind-the-scenes" work, such as fitting models, extras for films, etc. We highly advise participating in the Search and being directly seen by agents and casting directors.

Talent Divisions
We divide our talent into three divisions. When you register
for the Search, you will be classified according to your experience
and training, which assists you with agents & employers
seeking potential talent.
Amateur: For participants who have limited or no experience
or training, and desire exposure and evaluation for their
potential by agents and casting directors.
Semiprofessional: For participants who have had JNA training
or comparable training from a recognized school and some paid
and/or unpaid experience.
Professional: For participants who have extensive training
and paid experience or have had representation in the past
or are currently registered with an agent and are looking
for representation in a different location.

Divisions and Requirements for Search:

Limited space available for Performance Divisions
Performance Divisions create new visions of you by the agents!
All participants who have met the requirements and are approved to be in the division aspect of Search will be able to enhance their presentations to the agents by these additional performances!
Acting Division:
If you desire to register to perform a monologue or a commercial for the Acting Division of Search you must schedule an audition privately with a Julie Nation Acting coach, and arrange this by calling (707) 575-8585. Monologues and commercials must be no longer than 1 minute in length and should showcase your acting abilities and be age appropriate. When you perform at Search, it will be in front of a live audience and the Agents. Out-of-area participants may also audition by submitting a video or cassette, with a non-returnable snapshot, to demonstrate your acting performance. You may also perform this audition over the telephone by calling (707) 575-8585.
Singing Division:
Staff approval through an audition is required, which can be arranged with Julie Nation staff at (707) 575-8585. To audition you may also choose to submit a video tape with a song of your choice that is family appropriate and 16 bars or less. Out-of-area participants may also audition by submitting a video or cassette, with a non-returnable snapshot, to demonstrate your singing performance. You will be contacted with your evaluation and/or acceptance into the division of your choice. (Home videos are acceptable for this purpose)

Individual Runway Division:
Your individual, stylized modeling walk, including choreographed routines, is presented on stage-and the lights are on you! Choose one look: sport, daytime, sharp, or elegant.
· Free classes are available for approved modeling candidates to rehearse their routine by calling (707) 575-8585. Out of town participants will have one of our professional runway teachers rehearse with them Friday evening, at the rehearsal at Julie Nation Academy Studio.
Solo Dance Division:
Your stylized routine of 60 seconds or less, of the dance type of your choice, may be submitted through video tape or personal audition. Remember to dress appropriately to enhance your dance!
Out-of-area Search Participants:
All are invited to participate in Showcase and be evaluated by agents for potential registration. Simply download the registration form, and return with registration fee to our address listed below... or call toll free (888)739-0177 and register by phone.

Opitional: Peformance divisions are optional at an additional fee; you may present yourself to agents and be potentially interviewed by them without actually peforming. Getting There
The Model & Talent Search and Conventions are held in Santa Rosa, California, in the heart of Sonoma County, better known as the Wine Country, located 60 miles North of San Francisco, CA. Extensive choices of airlines are available for traveling to San Francisco or Oakland, CA.
The Fountaingrove Inn, Hotel & The Holiday Inn Express
The Fountaingrove Inn, Santa Rosa, is the convention hotel of choice
for the Julie Nation International Search and Convention. Located
within ten minutes of the Julie Nation Academy, the Fountaingrove Inn
provides superb, diamond-quality accommodations at specially-priced,
excellent rates. Please mention you are booking for the Julie Nation
Academy Search when making your reservations. The lovely Hoiday Inn Express is another option for hotel accomodations in Santa Rosa, CA during the Search. Make sure when making reservations you mention the Julie Nation Academy Search so you receive a special rate!

Directions to Santa Rosa
Directions from the Oakland Airport
Take 880 North (towards Downtown Oakland) to East I-80 (I-580 West) towards Richmond
& Sacramento. Here you need to be in the right lane to exit I-80
to the Richmond Bridge on 580 West (to San Rafeal). After crossing the Richmond/San Rafael bridge, take 101 North to Santa Rosa.
Directions from San Francisco Airport
Take 101 North and an immediate exit on to the 380 interchange,
then to 280 North towards San Francisco. This turns into 19th Ave.
which is also Hwy 1. Follow that until you get to Hwy 101 North
(look for the Golden Gate Bridge signs). Cross the Golden Gate bridge and take 101 North to Santa
Rosa.
Directions from the East Bay
Take 580 towards Richmond and San Rafael. Here you need to be in
the right lane to exit on West 580 to the Richmond Bridge. Cross the bridge to San Rafael. Take 101 North
to Santa Rosa.
From the Sacramento Area
Take 80 West to Hwy 37, then 101 North to Santa Rosa.
Directions from Hwy 128/29 in St. Helena, Calistoga or Napa
Take a left on to Calistoga Road off of Hwy 128 in Calistoga and
go towards Santa Rosa. Go for about 30 minutes.
Take a right on
to Montecito Blvd., which then turns into Fountaingrove Parkway.
Take Fountaingrove Parkway until the very end. At the bottom of
the hill turn right into our driveway right before it intersects
with Mendocino Ave. Continue on Mendocino Ave to the Fountaingrove Inn (at the corner of Fountaingrove Parkway
and Mendocino Ave).

Take the Mendocino Ave. exit at the north end of Santa Rosa. Go
west over the freeway in the right-hand lane. Turn right on to Cleveland Ave. One block later the street curves left and becomes Hopper Ave. Get into the left lane and turn left at the Holiday Inn Express - next driveway after Starbucks.
heading South on 101 to Santa Rosa
Take 101 South to Santa Rosa. Take the Mendocino/Hopper Ave. exit.
Turn right on to Hopper Ave, get into the left lane and
then make an immediate left into the Holiday Inn Express driveway.

Take the Bicentennial Ave. exit. Go
east. Get into the left lane on Bicentennial and turn left on to

into their driveway. They are on the corner of Fountaingrove Parkway
and Mendocino Ave.
heading South on 101 to Santa Rosa
Take 101 South to Santa Rosa. Take the Mendocino/Hopper Ave. exit.
Turn left on to Hopper Ave. at the light. Left again at the Mendocino
Overcrossing. Be in the rightmost left turn lane to go left at Mendocino
Ave. then make an immediate right into our driveway.
